The most prestigious race in America just got more American. Andretti Autosport, owned by Michael Andretti, is featuring a 5 car Indianapolis 500 lineup with all American drivers. Conor Daly will join the Andretti fleet in their chase for a 6th Indianapolis 500 victory. He joins fellow Americans Zach Veach, 2016 Indy 500 winner Alexander Rossi, 2014 Indy 500 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay, and Marco Andretti. It won’t be the first time Daly has teamed up with Alexander Rossi. Rossi and Daly competed together in the 30th season of The Amazing Race, where they finished 4th out of the 11 teams.
Conor Daly will once again be sponsored in his Indy 500 run by the U.S. Air Force. Last year, he was sponsored by the Air Force with Dale Coyne Racing in conjunction with Thom Burns Racing and came home with a 21st place finish. Daly was diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes as a teenager and therefore has to race with a glucose monitor in his car. He won’t be the only driver in the Indy 500 that races with the disease as Charlie Kimball races full time for Carlin.
