Hailie Deegan, one of the biggest young stars in stock car racing as of late, was fastest in opening ARCA practice for Saturday’s Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire at Daytona International Speedway. Venturini Motorsports’ Drew Dollar and Deegan’s DGR-Crosley teammate Tanner Gray were 2nd and 3rd fastest in practice, respectively.
The 18-year old California native has gathered a lot of attention the past two seasons in what is now the ARCA Menards West Series where she scored 3 victories, becoming the first female to win in the series. This year, she is slated to run the full ARCA Menards Series schedule with DGR-Crosley as well as some races in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.

During single-car runs, Riley Herbst was notably fast in his Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. Herbst will be running the full schedule in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for JGR where he will be teammates and Rookie of the Year rivals with last year’s ARCA Daytona winner Harrison Burton.
Chad Bryant Racing’s Connor Hall was fastest in Final ARCA practice followed by Dave Mader III and Dominique van Wieringen.
The Lucas Oil 200 Driven By General Tire will be held on Saturday, February 8 at 4:30p ET.
Wow! Looking forward to seeing what’s in store for Hailie. She seems confident and appears to have the skill!
