Boris Said among 7 drivers to fail to qualify for Saturday’s Henry 180 at Road America

The 2010 Montreal Xfinity Series road course winner Boris Said will not be able to race at Road America after posting the 39th fastest time out of 42 cars (Noah Gragson did not post a lap). Only the Top-31 qualifiers make the race on speed while the other 5 spots are determined through NASCAR owner points.

Landon Cassill, Tommy Joe Martins, Riley Herbst, Natalie Decker, and Noah Gragson were given the spots for owner points, leaving Boris Said and six others having to go home.

Known as a road course ace, this is the first time Boris Said has failed to qualify any NASCAR national series event since failing to qualify for the 2009 Daytona 500. In addition to Said’s Montreal victory, he’s scored 7 Top-5’s and 9 Top-10’s in 29 Xfinity Series race, 21 of them being on road courses. Said also has a victory in the Camping World Truck Series, also coming at a road course at Sonoma in 1998.

The other drivers failing to qualify were Matt Jaskol, Bayley Currey, and full-time drivers Gray Gaulding, Jeffrey Earnhardt, Colby Howard, and Kyle Weatherman

The Henry 180 takes place at Road America at 2:30p ET on NBC.
